Harvest Party 2017 and Library Tasting
October 21, 2017. Noon-4:00. It's a party! We're grateful for another vintage!
October 21, 2017
Join us for our 18th Annual Halleck Vineyard Harvest Party! Under any other circumstances, we would be celebrating an extraordinary year and cathartic relief as our babies are put to bed for another vintage.
This year, a darker dimension pervades, to which we offer light. For all the hardship endured, we will give thanks for our extraordinary community, the love we share, the good fortune to be spared from harm, and a bright future.
Before lunch, we will have our annual Library Tasting where our library Pinot Noirs will be open for tasting. We welcome you to join us in updating our tasting notes.
Harvest has historically been a time for celebration since the pagan era. The Lammas Festival in the UK marks the beginning of Harvest. Judaism, one of the oldest religions, has Succot. Epiphany, in Greece, hosts the Blessing of the Sea. In November, Olivagando in Magione, Italy marks the olive harvest. And of course, we have Thanksgiving.
This Harvest Party is a gesture of balance to the volatile forces of nature. It is a time of letting loose and sharing community.
Join us for wine, live music, a sit-down lunch, oysters and camaraderie.
