Tasting Notes February 2017 (as written by Dave Pruett with notes from November 2016 Harvest Party)

Color: Dark red brick. Deep and bright.

Nose: Powerful, rich notes of fruit, ripe cherries, vanilla and spice.

Mouthfeel: Luscious, textural, rich, full-bodied and round with good acid structure

Flavor: Cherry, spice and vanilla oakiness carries through on the palate. Rich, vibrant, earthy fruit. Smooth and integrated. Excellent! Truly enjoyable!

Planted in 1999, this vineyard is cordon pruned using clone 777. Due to its terrior, it is often our last vineyard to be picked. Surrounded by llamas, goats, bees and dogs and situated low near the Laguna de Santa Rosa, The Farm has consistently given us fruit that is rich and ripe with great texture and structure. Took about an hour decanted to really show its stuff!

Feb. 2015

Color: Bright deep reds. with brilliant translucency. It plays with the light. Clean to edge, showing no signs of its age.

Nose: Carmel and vanilla with gentle cherry nose. Integrated fruit with candy.

Flavors: Leads with red-to-black cherry notes that go from front to mid-palate, softening on the way back, complemented by earthy spice tones. Long finish and rich feel.

Winemaker Notes
These grapes were hand-picked in early morning, hand-sorted and destemmed. They were cold soaked for 5 days before going through whole berry fermentation receiving 2 punch-downs per day. Fermentation took 12 days in a open top 5 ton fermentation tank and were then racked to barrels.
