Halleck Vineyard Club Trip to NYC

We arrive Thursday, November 15. The evening is still unplanned, but we will think of something, even if only rendezvousing for sushi and drinks.

First on the agenda is lunch at Per Se on Friday, November 16. Thomas Keller is preparing a special meal for our party in their West Room.

We will be served a multi-course tasting menu paired with Halleck Vineyard and other wines. I expect the total cost to run about $400 per person, all inclusive (food, beverages, wine, service, etc.). So if you are interested, please RSVP to this email today.

My friends, Barbara Friedman and Bob Dowe, have offered to host a little cocktail reception in their gorgeous flat overlooking Central Park West on Friday night.

On Saturday, November 17, will be a wonderful lunch hosted by Michael Garvey, GM and sommelier at The Grand Central Oyster Bar. This is a must-stop every time that I am in New York. Sometimes, between trains, I sit at the counter and enjoy a glass of Iron Horse sparkling with a dozen oysters. They have a revolving selection of over thirty varieties. Or sometimes I will enjoy a meal in one of New York's best seafood restaurants.

During the weekend we will grab one of New York's finest pastrami sandwiches, walk Central Park, and catch a show. My cousin, Eric, a died in the wool New Yawkuh, has offered to help, host and join us during our stay. All in all, it promises to be an enjoyable and memorable trip.

We have a few rooms booked at The Beacon on Broadway near the Upper West Side, walking distance to Per Se, Barbara and Bob's, Central Park, and Lincoln Center. It is half a block from the subway. They have extended us a special rate of $220. Such a deal... Let me know if you want a room for any part of the weekend. I will dole them out on a first come first served basis. I will try to get more if I need them, but there are no guarantees.

This will be an adult jaunt, unlike others that we host.  Let me know if you would like to join us as soon as possible.
